Dear all,

On Wednesday 18 November, at the time in your invitation (venue: see your invitation), you will build your own CRM on your laptop with Claude Code. You do not need any coding experience.

There is no time to install software in the room. Please finish the setup below by Sunday 15 November. It takes about 15 minutes.

What to bring

• Your personal laptop (not a work laptop) and its charger.
• macOS 13 or later, or Windows 10 or later.

Setup: five steps

1. A paid Claude plan. Claude Code needs a Pro plan or higher. The free plan does not include Claude Code. Check your plan at claude.ai → Settings.

2. Install the Claude desktop app. Download it from claude.com/download and sign in with the same account.

3. Install Python 3. Download it from python.org/downloads and run the installer. - Windows: on the first screen, tick "Add python.exe to PATH" before you click Install. - Mac: click through the installer with the default options.

4. Make your workshop folder. Create a folder named my-crm (for example, in Documents). Save clients_demo.csv into it. It holds 20 fictional clients, with names and notes in English and Chinese. Do not open and re-save it in Excel: that can garble the Chinese text.

5. Check that everything works. Open the Claude desktop app → Code tab → choose the my-crm folder. Then type:

What files are in this folder, and which Python version is installed?

You should see clients_demo.csv and a Python version number that starts with 3. If Claude asks for permission to run a command, read it and allow it.

When this works, you are ready. Do not build anything yet. We will start together.

Ground rules for the day

• Fictional data only. Do not bring or type real client names, accounts or holdings. What Claude Code reads is sent to the AI model, and a personal account is not an approved tool for client data.
• This workshop shows a personal productivity tool. Check with your compliance team before you use anything like it with real clients.

当天的规则

• 只用虚构数据。 不要带来、也不要输入真实客户的名字、账号或持仓。Claude Code 读到的内容会发给 AI 模型处理，个人账号不是获批处理客户数据的工具。
• 这次工作坊演示的是个人效率工具。用于真实客户之前，请先问你们的合规部门。
